It was a concerto of cultural arts and stunning architecture when The Crimson Waterfront Residences by mckafka Development Group hosted an Aventura Marketing Council Chairman’s Roundtable luncheon showcasing the National YoungArts Foundation. The event highlighted YoungArts’ mission to identify and support the next generation of artists and The Crimson’s claim to fame: boutique, waterfront living on the bay in Edgewater – Miami’s newest, most desirable neighborhood.
AMC Chair Cliff Schulman of Weiss Serota Helfman welcomed business and community leaders gathered at Christine Lee’s at Gulfstream Park on behalf of a powerhouse team: mckafka partners Stephan Gietl and Fernando Levy Hara; architect Stephane L’Écuyer of IDEA; and International Sales Group (ISG) principals Craig Studnicky and Phil Spiegelman. The stellar cast also included YoungArts President and CEO Paul T. Lehr; Vanessa J. Leitman, Vice President of External Relations and Communication; and Lena Koorse, Senior Director of Development.
The meeting’s first act featured The Crimson’s repertoire of boutique bayfront living, luxurious amenities and direct access to Miami’s scintillating cultural arts district. The Crimson is playing a starring role in over $2.5 billion of “The New Miami”…..new residential condo development already under construction or breaking ground by 2015.

The next act was devoted to shining the spotlight on YoungArts’ national headquarters, now located at the landmark former Bacardi Tower site at 2100 Biscayne Boulevard. YoungArts is collaborating with legendary architect and YoungArts artistic advisor Frank Gehry to design the threeand- a-half acre, multi-disciplinary arts campus boasting a new performing arts center and park. YoungArts plans to host year-round programming ranging from master classes, public screenings and performances – to artist in residence and guestcurated visual arts exhibitions.
Before the curtain call, AMC members enjoyed the piano magic of eight year-old Brandon Goldberg, one of the AMC’s Young Stars. Then the audience was treated to the amazing vocals of National YoungArts Foundation performer, 18 yearold Ashley Pezzotti, who recently sang with Keith Urban in Las Vegas for the American Country Awards. Ashley was accompanied by 15 year-old pianist Vincent Machin.
Established in 1981 by Lin and Ted Arison, YoungArts Foundation provides emerging artists with life-changing experiences with renowned mentors such as singer Josh Groban, opera star Placido Domingo, choreographer Desmond Richardson and actress Kerry Washington. They also have access to significant scholarships, national recognition and other opportunities throughout their careers to help ensure that the most outstanding emerging artists are encouraged to pursue careers in the arts.
To date, YoungArts has honored more than 20,000 young artists with over $6 million in monetary awards and has facilitated over $150 million in college scholarship opportunities. YoungArts is the only path to nominations for the U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts and offers opportunities for appearances on HBO’s YoungArts MasterClass.
