The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is putting the best seats in the house on sale to 13 of the new shows in its exciting 2014-15 season, giving arts lovers and bargain hunters reason to shout, “Bravo!” for being able to enjoy a 15 percent discount on ticket purchases made between August 5-19.
Broadway greats, classic rock-n-roll, hilarious comedy and classical ballet and music are included in the first performances to light up the season at Aventura’s 330-seat waterfront theater.
Start the season with The Miami Jewish Film Festival (Sept. 17), which kicks off the festival’s 18th year with a wine reception, special film presentation of Wagner’s Jews, a chorale performance, live music and an after-party.
Enjoy an evening of music filled with love, passion and dreams, which includes selections from Mozart to Lehar, from American musicals to Filipino art songs during Bles Chavez-Bernstein’s Timeless Serenade (Sept. 27).
Celebrate Aventura’s Founders Day Weekend with acclaimed Broadway veterans from The Phantom of the Opera, Glory Crampton (“Christine”) and Franc D’Ambrosio (“The Phantom”) who celebrate the songs and music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in Angel of Music: A Salute to Andrew Lloyd-Webber (Nov. 8).
Next, enjoy the vocal harmonies of The Atlantic City Boys (Nov. 15), who have wowed audiences in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Disney World, as they lend their classic vocals to rock-n-roll harmonies of the 60s, singing hits by The Drifters, The Beach Boys and the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
Arts Ballet Theatre returns to the stage at Aventura with four spectacular performances: Tribute to Diaghilev (Oct. 18, 19), The Nutcracker (Dec. 12 – 14), Fairy Doll (March 7, 8) and Spring Gala (May 9).
Get ready for side-splitting laughter during the Aventura Comedy Series featuring funny-bone virtuosos Bobby Collins: Mellowing with Age . . . “on the Inside” (Nov. 14), Sarge: The Chanukah Chutzpah Tour (Dec. 18, 19), Richie Minervini and Friends: An Evening of Song, Dance and Stand-up Comedy (Jan. 24), Peter Fogel and Johnny Lombardi: The Cannoli and the Macaroon Comedy Tour (Feb. 28) and Vanessa Hollingshead: Because I am a Lady (March 28).
