Aventura Hospital recently announced the appointment of Pete Mareska to the position of director of plant operations.
Mareska has more than 12 years of experience in facilities management and joins Aventura from Bartow Regional Medical Center in Bartow, Florida. He previously served as a plant operations management consultant for Baptist Hospital in Miami and was the appointed director of plant operations at Memorial Hospital of Tampa.
Mareska grew up in Detroit and attended the University of Michigan, where he played college hockey for the University of Michigan Club Team. He has called Florida home for the past six years.
Mareska will be responsible for directing the functions and activities of the Department of Engineering. His primary task will be to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the hospital’s facilities, machinery and equipment in accordance with all regulatory licensing, codes and standards.
In addition to managing several key plant operations functions, Mareska will oversee the “Environment of Care” to identify, assess and control environmental/safety hazards at Aventura Hospital.
