Aventura Hospital and Medical Center is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Kevin Coy as the new Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Dr. Luis Correa as the new Medical Director of the STEMI Program.
Dr. Kevin Coy graduated from the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida and went on to complete a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA and an additional Fellowship in Angioplasty at the San Francisco Heart Institute in Daly City, CA. Dr. Coy is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians and a member of the Florida Society of Internal Medicine. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Interventional Cardiology, the American Board of Cardiology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the National Board of Examiners. Previous leadership positions have included serving as the Chair of the Cardiac Catheterization Committee for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (FCACC), Associate Medical Director of Jackson International, and Co- Director of the Community Cardiac Practice at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Luis Correa graduated from medical school at the Universidad Pontifica Bolivariana in Medellin, Colombia. He completed a three-year Residency followed by three consecutive Fellowships in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Research all at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine with sub specialty board certification in Cardiovascular Disease. Previous leadership positions have included serving as a voluntary faculty member of the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology.
