Heart-warming entertainment on stage at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Slow Burn Theatre Company opens its Aventura season with Bonnie & Clyde on Thursday, February 12 at 8 p.m., with additional shows on Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, February 15 at 2 p.m. Fueled with a score by award-winning composer Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde), the 2012 Broadway production of Bonnie & Clyde was nominated for five Drama Desk Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Tony Awards. This captivating stage production chronicles the infamous real-life crime duo Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the most notorious couple of the twentieth century. The story begins in Depression-era Texas, where young Parker meets and falls madly in love with Barrow and together their fearless, shameless bankrobbing spree and electrifying love for one another captures the attention of the entire nation. Tickets are $40 and $45.

Buckle your seat belts for The Bronx Wanderers on Thursday, February 19 at 8 p.m., as they deliver a Back to the Future type of rocket fuel in a high-octane 50s, 60s and 70s rock ‘n roll experience. The magical appeal of the show will have audiences tapping their feet to the music that skyrocketed classics including American Graffiti, Happy Days and A Bronx Tale to instant success, delivered with show-stopping charisma by pros from that era who mix it up with modern day indie band musicians. Tickets are $40 and $45.

Sings Ella on Saturday, February 21 at 8 p.m., where he dedicates an entire show to the woman dubbed “The First Lady of Song.” Coultier lovingly puts his own spin on classics including “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” “Cry Me a River,” “The Lady is a Tramp,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Embraceable You” and many more as he sheds light on the life of the greatest female jazz singer of all time. Tickets are $35 and $40.
