The Robbie Family History – from Joe Robbie Stadium to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers” was the theme of the Aventura Marketing Council’s June Chairman’s Roundtable luncheon hosted by Aventura Optima Plaza and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. During the event at Gulfstream Park’s Christine Lee’s, “Strikers Likers” welcomed special guest speaker Tim Robbie, President of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers – South Florida’s professional soccer team.
Inspiring “Go Strikers!” cheers, Ariel Bromberg of Aventura Optima Plaza and Rosalie Schlaen of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney introduced Tim Robbie, whose father, Joe, was the longtime owner of the Miami Dolphins.
“After last season’s highly successful ‘re-launch’ of the Strikers, capped off with a dramatic run to the North American Soccer League’s Championship Series, we’re tremendously excited about the 2012 season,” Robbie said. “The Strikers play a wide open, attacking style of soccer ensuring plenty of ‘goal-mouth’ action in every contest.”
Through September, soccer fans can watch the Strikers play home games at historic Lockhart stadium against opponents including league-leading San Antonio on July 14 plus enjoy “Tailgate Zone” activities highlighted by soccer for kids, music, interactive games and famous gourmet food trucks. AMC colleagues especially looked forward to attending the July 15 “Summer Business Bash” heralded as “The biggest corporate party of the season.”
