Aventura Vice Mayor honored on 60th anniversary of college’s undefeated football season

Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, PA., recently honored Aventura Vice Mayor Diamond on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of their first and only undefeated football team. Bob Diamond, who played guard for the team in 1950, never considered his 5’7” height or weight (160 lbs.) to be handicaps. Prior to the celebration, Bob and his teammates on the victorious 1950 team were inducted in F & M’s Football Hall of Fame.

Bob came from the noted football town of Hillside, N. J., where he earned high school football honors as First Team All-State Guard. Today, the Football Hall of Fame plaque is proudly displayed at his office at the Aventura Government Center.
