Dazzling entertainment highlights the December holiday season at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Brad Ross to perform at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

December at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center offers something for everyone with Slow Burn Theatre Company, holiday favorite The Nutcracker, a tribute to Frank Sinatra, spellbinding magic, uproarious comedy and gripping film.

Critically acclaimed Slow Burn Theatre Company returns to Aventura Arts & Cultural Center for the 2016 theater season with Dogfight, from Dec. 3 through 6. Winner of the 2013 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical and based on the 1991 cult classic movie, Dogfight chronicles the unlikely yet poignant romance between a shy, awkward waitress and a young marine who meet in 1963 the night before he ships out to Vietnam.

Gripping and award-winning (Best Director, Montreal Film Festival; Special Jury Prize, Chicago Film Festival), The Verdict will be screened on Tuesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. Presented as part of the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Foreign Film Series, Shelly Isaacs will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion. Shown in Dutch with English subtitles.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida returns to Aventura with a sparkling production of holiday favorite The Nutcracker, from Dec. 11 through 13, featuring the choreography of the company’s artistic director Vladimir Issaev. This beloved tale of snowflakes, sugar plums, magical dolls, naughty little boys and a Christmas toy that comes to life is set to the enchanting score by Tchaikovsky and includes “The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Waltz of the Flowers,” among other favorites.

3 Men and a Baby. . .Grand: A Toast To Sinatra on Fri., Dec. 18 at 8 p.m. is a passionate tribute to “Ol’ Blue Eyes” and “Chairman of the Board” Frank Sinatra, whose iconic pipes became the voice of a generation and who is known to all as one of the greatest entertainers of all time.

Comedic master Sarge takes the stage once again at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center with all new “Just for Chanukah” material during Sarge: the Chanukah Chutzpah Tour on Sat., Dec. 19 and Sun., Dec. 20 at 8 p.m. As one of the America’s favorite entertainers, known for spicy comedy, touching vocals and stunning dexterity as a pianist, Sarge has performed worldwide to adoring audiences and also worked in film and television with some of the biggest names in show business.

Dubbed as an “illusionist extraordinaire,” Brad Ross brings his new show Unbelievable! to Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Tues., Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. A celebration of jaw-dropping magic that includes hilarious comedy and lots of audience participation, Ross takes his audiences on a journey into a world where anything is possible, providing spellbinding wonder and entertainment for the entire family.
