Dr. Tracey Heiken, a University of Miami graduate who earned her doctorate in dentistry at Nova Southeastern University and served her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia where she received her certificate in pediatric dentistry recently joined the professional staff of Aventura Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, located at 2797 NE 207th Street, Suite 201 in the heart of Aventura.
The practice, located in the same facility as the Dental Care Group in Aventura, recently added 12 exam chairs in an alldigital environment specially designed for pediatrics and orthodontics. The office features new overhead LCD screens with the latest movies, a dedicated waiting room, prizes for children and above all, a topnotch, caring, clinical staff.
Aventura Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics remains the only local dental practice that is open on Saturdays, which is very convenient for patients who no longer have to miss school and parents who no longer have to miss work because of a child’s dental appointment.
Dr. Heiken, a South Florida native, is a graduate of North Miami Beach Senior High School. She is a member of the Florida Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Women’s Dental Society and Alpha Omega, a professional dental fraternity.
“What I always wanted to do,” Dr. Heiken said, “is help people look their best. Because every child is a beautiful person, I believe every child should have a beautiful smile.”
Dr. Heiken says that from the time she decided to pursue dentistry, it was clear that she wanted to specialize in the treatment of children. Since joining Aventura Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics in July, Dr. Heiken has come to be known to her young patients as “Dr. Tracey.”
She says she always wanted to bring her skills as a pediatric dentist “back home” and is thrilled that she is now living her dream in her own backyard. Dr. Tracey currently resides in Aventura and is active in the community through involvement in several South Florida-based nonprofit organizations.
