Enhanced Fitness and Nutrition Assessments for Williams Island Spa Members

As more individuals engage in a healthy lifestyle, just joining a spa, gym or adjusting their diet is not enough anymore. For fitness enthusiasts with special needs, finding the right training program and diet regimen may be a daunting task. Williams Island Fitness Department Lead Karrie Griffiths is always seeking alternative fitness programs and cutting edge training methods.

Williams Island Spa Members’ expanding fitness protocol includes a basic fitness assessment for new members, which include cardio and flexibility assessments, body fat ratio and a tailor fit exercise program to suit their needs. “We also have a biomechanical consultant who understands that individuals may have certain sensitivities, whether it is shoulder replacement, arthritis or sports injuries,” says Karrie Griffiths. “Frank Musumeci, having 27 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist working with professional athletes, as well as the weekend warrior has taken his skills into the dynamic field of biomechanical consulting. He has worked with the Pritikin Longevity Center for the past 10 years and other private clubs in the South Florida area as a consultant and lecturer. He provides biomechanical assessments for clients with sports injuries, joint replacements and other degenerative conditions. Frank believes in preventative exercise for the new athlete and helping to assess issues with the injured client. We are then able to offer a balanced fitness program where the consultant works in tandem with our Spa trainers.”

Registered Dietician, Nutritionist and Author Ronni Litz Julien, of the Julien Nutrition Institute, offers members complimentary lectures on the importance of nutrition for their fitness regimen. She creates full nutrition assessments for members looking for a healthier lifestyle.

As part of its Balanced Fitness Program, The Spa at Williams Island offers an ongoing lecture series focusing on health and wellness, with a myriad of fitness classes for members. The Spa also features a 60-foot indoor lap pool for members who embrace the benefits of water training.
