FIU presents “Mission to Haiti: Israel’s Relief Efforts After the Earthquake”

Last year’s catastrophic earthquake in Haiti was arguably one of the greatest natural disasters of our time. As the world tried to come to terms with rapidly rising death tolls and unimaginable destruction, Israel Defense Forces’ Home Front Command immediately responded. Within 24 hours Israeli diplomats, police officers and medical personnel were using their world-renowned skills to clear rubble, provide medical care and help countless Haitian victims.

On November 4th, FIU’s Middle East Society and the Consulate General of Israel to Florida and Puerto Rico will be co-hosting a lecture by Ambassador Danny Biran, Head of Israel’s Advance Team to Haiti after the earthquake.

FIU President Dr. Mark Rosenberg will be delivering the opening remarks. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Mary Ann Wolfe Theater on the Biscayne Bay Campus (3000 NE 151st Street, North Miami).

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is free. To RSVP, call 305-919-5381.
