Imagine there’s no hunger”… John Lennon’s haunting theme song about hunger and poverty around the world is just as relevant today as it was in the 60s when Lennon wrote the song, Imagine,” that became an international anthem. Lennon, legendary British pop star of The Beatles, died in 1980, but his wife Yoko Ono Lennon carries on his mission.
Hard Rock Café International partnered with Yoko Ono Lennon and WHY (World Hunger Year), an organization dedicated to fighting childhood hunger and poverty worldwide, and Hard Rock Café Hollywood instills that mission in their team members and guests.
At a recent breakfast sponsored by the Hard Rock Café Hollywood for the Aventura Marketing Council (AMC), members each brought in four Thanksgiving canned good items to help “Big Mama” and “Team of Life.” Big Mama, also known as Essie Reed, has one goal— to help feed the hungry in her Fort Lauderdale neighborhood (For more information visit bigmamahelp.com). AMC members were eager to purchase a Hard Rock “Imagine” bracelet for $1… the amount it takes to feed a child in the Dominican Republic, India, Kenya, Thailand or the USA for one day. The public is also able to donate at their local Hard Rock Café or online at hardrock.com.
Scott Jacobs, General Manager and Robyn Melvin, Sales & Marketing Manager for Hard Rock Café Hollywood, said, “We are committed to fighting hunger worldwide, and we are very proud of our entire team that donates so much of their time yearround to helping with this mission.”
Aventura Marketing Council members enjoyed a fabulous breakfast, ensuring the fact that the Hard Rock Café Hollywood is the perfect place for a social or corporate party or event. Every food item was masterfully prepared and beautifully displayed by the Hard Rock Café chefs.
