Steven S. Sorensen, Chief Development Officer of Integra Investments, hosted the Council’s (AMC) April breakfast meeting featuring a preview of Aventura ParkSquare – heralded as “The new center of living in Aventura.”

Past AMC Chair Bob Hollander of Brown and Brown Insurance, standing in for AMC Chair Cliff Schulman of Weiss Serota Helfman, welcomed hundreds of business and community leaders gathered at Turnberry Isle Miami for the event focusing on how Aventura ParkSquare saved the best for one of the last parcels of premier Aventura property. The ideal, central location is where “the future of Aventura has arrived!”

Set to rise at the corner of NE 207th Street (Waterways Blvd.) and NE 30th Avenue, plans for the Aventura ParkSquare site, spanning over one million square feet, include a 131-unit condominium with residences overlooking panoramic golf course views; a business center with Class-A office space; restaurant, retail and entertainment venues; a Starwood hotel; state-of-the-art health and wellness center; and luxury senior living component.

Sorensen, integral to helping Integra Investments bring Aventura ParkSquare – “another great, fantastic project” to Aventura, explained, “Integra Investments is a private equity firm based in downtown Miami that owns real estate from Key West to Vero Beach. We’re actually the largest landowner in Key West; and although there are many different properties we’re developing, Aventura ParkSquare is one of the most exciting!”

Designed in partnership with the City of Aventura and a world-class team including Zyscovich Architects and Interiors by Steven G., Sorensen noted, “Aventura

ParkSquare will be a very pedestrianfriendly, lushly- landscaped community and local gathering place. ‘Wow factor’ features and amenities will incorporate healthy living opportunities into a beautiful park- like environment.

The whole idea is to create an amazing experience based on premises associated with ‘Fit City’ – an Urban Land Institute Development program that designs projects around healthy living concepts. For example, Aventura ParkSquare’s wide, well-lit, naturally ventilated stairwells and sidewalks will encourage people to walk – the overall goal is to facilitate interaction with the real estate.

AMC members impressed by why it will be “hip to be at Aventura ParkSquare” looked forward to dining al fresco amidst beautiful oak trees and fountains at restaurants including Ice Box Café (the café Oprah says has America’s best cake).

Friends can enjoy the hotel’s social nightlife scene and spirits or shop at intriguing main street stores. Optimal fitness can also be achieved at a 40,000 square foot health and wellness center expected to welcome professional athletes improving their performance under the care of a renowned sports medicine group.

From architecturally elegant Europeanstyle curving, to a striking, illuminated 23- foot high “glass box” restaurant, lush oak grove landscaping and convenient, ample parking, “This new epicenter of Aventura will serve as the festive and vibrant heart of what is to come; and will be the catalyst for moving urban, mixed-use communities in the U.S. to their next stage of evolution,” according toAventura Park- Square architect Bernard Zyscovich.
