MARJCC presents Dancing With The World

With the purpose of showcasing South Florida’s cultural diversity, and promoting a cultural interchange between numerous “communities”, the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center/Sanford L. Ziff Campus through its Bamachol Dance Program will present Dancing With The World, an International Folklore Festival.

Dancing With The World, which takes place on Sun., March 6th at 6 p.m. at the new Aventura Arts & Cultural Center will assemble a multitude of folk dance troupes, each showcasing their own cultural background, and promote the union between various ‘small communities’ throughout South Florida.

Performing troupes include ‘Brazarte’, a renowned, award winning dance company, that highlights Modern and Brazilian Folklore, Grupo Folclorico Puro Chile, Ballet Folclorico Aires Panamenos, Baila Flamenco, Live-in-color, Kulanu Israeli Dance Troupe, and many more.

“This is truly a one of a kind event, where we have the opportunity to have on stage, Folk Dance Troupes from all over South Florida, representing our cultural diversity, and performing together in unity,” says Esther Fuhrman, co-chairperson for the Bamachol Dance Program.

“An event like this only exists in the West Coast until now,” explains Roger Weiger, artistic director of the Dancing With The WorldFestival. We are very happy to present such a unique program to our community and celebrate its colorful cultural heritage,” he adds.

Dancing With The World will encompass two age categories – Youth: ages 13-18, and Adult: ages 19-35. Tickets for the performance will range between $15 – $45.
