On Sunday, March 20, 2011 Hadassah’s Simcha Chapter is holding its 7th Annual Gala: “Jewels of Hadassah: Gems of Judaism” This year’s event is honoring Michael & Neomi Dezer for their unwavering dedication and generous support of Israel. Born and raised in Tel Aviv, the Dezers immigrated to the United states in 1962 and founded Dezer Properties in New York City in 1970. Dezer was the first developer to invest in Chelsea, creating an upscale neighborhood from a failing factory district. In 1985 the Dezers began investing in oceanfront property in South Florida, becoming the largest developer and land owner in Sunny Isles Beach and virtually changing the luxury real estate market. Hadassah is proud to honor the Dezers for their staunch support of various American and Israeli charities.
The event will be in the Dezers’ Trump International Beach Resort, 18001 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, with Meredith Porte, Producer/Host of WLRN’s ArtStreet, as celebrity Mistress of Ceremonies. The evening will feature a Judaica themed jewelry fashion show, fabulous raffle prizes, and musical entertainment by the celebrated Ghaleb. Donation of $150 per person ($180 patrons) includes a three course gourmet dinner, wine bar compliments of Herzog Wines and free valet parking. The funds raised support the ongoing progress of Hadassah projects in the United States and Israel which benefits humanity at large through their state of the art medical research, teaching, health care and comprehensive youth and education programs. The public is invited to share in this social, meaningful and fun evening in support of Hadassah’s good works.
