The City of Aventura announces spring camps will be held starting Monday, March 26 through Friday, March 30, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center located at 3375 NE 188 Street. This year, the City will offer a Mission Impossible themed spring camp and a new science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) camp.
Mission Impossible Spring Camp offers campers ages 5-14 the opportunity to enjoy a variety of games and activities while maneuvering through obstacles and clues to conquer the impossible! Camp includes a field trip to Johnny Rockets GameRoom.
Sci-Tech Lab Spring Camp offers campers ages 7-12 an opportunity to explore interconnectedness between science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) while their creativity and problem-solving skills get challenged.
Camp fees include all activities and supplies at the following rates: Mission Impossible Spring Camp: $160 for Aventura residents and $192 for non-residents; and Sci-Tech Lab Spring Camp: $240 for Aventura residents and $288 for non-residents.
Registration can be completed online at cityofaventura.com/ors, the City’s Online Registration System (ORS) or at any of the following facilities: Community Recreation Center (3375 NE 188 St); Founders Park (3105 NE 190 St); or Waterways Park (3301 NE 213 St). New registrations are accepted in person only.
Taste of Excellence
Jazz music fans as well as wine and cheese enthusiasts and aficionados are invited to an evening of delight at Taste of Excellence, the City of Aventura’s premiere event on Sunday, April 14, 2018 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The night takes place at the beautiful Arthur I. Snyder Park, the waterfront park adjacent to the Community Recreation Center located at 3375 N.E. 188 Street.
Admission is free; however, RSVP is strongly encouraged. Those who RSVP by Sunday, April 8, 2018 may be eligible for a commemorative gift. Please RSVP at cityofaventura.com/tasteofexcellence.
Enjoy a lovely South Florida spring evening socializing with friends and neighbors while indulging in music and flavor. Wine, crepes and cheese platters will be available for purchase as well as non-alcoholic beverages while The South Florida Jazz Orchestra performs live Jazz throughout the night. The venue provides the perfect backdrop with a beautiful water view to sip wine, enjoy delicious food, and listen to great music.
Parking will be available at the City of Aventura Community Recreation Center and Aventura City of Excellence School parking lots. Additional parking will be at the Harbour Centre located on the corner of N.E. 188 Street and N.E. 29 Avenue. Complimentary shuttle service will run to and from the Harbour Centre and the Recreation Center from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
