The Point’s ‘Fashion for a Cause’: Your ticket to help fight breast cancer

Tickets are virtually “flying off the runway” for the gala Nov. 7 Fashion for a Cause luncheon planned by The Point of Aventura Resident Club featuring fashions by Bloomingdale’s Aventura. But before the benevolent “project runway” at Beth Torah benefitting The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation and Memorial Breast Cancer Center wows even the most stylish fashionistas, there’s still time to get your ticket to help fight breast cancer.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Month observed in October, The Point of Aventura’s series of festive philanthropic events prior to the Fashion for a Cause luncheon include the Oct. 24 “Cooking for a Cause” culinary experience at Aventura’s great family- style Luca Bella Italian restaurant from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. The event will benefit Memorial Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Services.

On Oct. 3, The Point also planned a fun and informative “Pink Tea” sponsored by Luca Bella. Guests invited to “wear a bit of pink” sipped tea and indulged in delicious appetizers and tempting Michy’s cupcakes while health professionals from Memorial Breast Cancer Center lectured and answered questions about women’s breast health. Another stylish event on Oct. 8 at Luca Bella featured a wine pairing dinner featuring renowned Sommelier Estella Cellini of Stacole wines.

Keeping the momentous momentum going on Nov. 7, the Fashion for a Cause luncheon at Beth Torah will be hosted by Master of Ceremonies, Local 10 News anchor and reporter Neki Mohan. Guest speakers will be Dr. Alejandra Perez, Director, Memorial Breast Cancer Center; and Dr. Peter Eisenberg, Radiologist, Memorial Women’s Imaging Center.

The fabulous fashion show will showcase “trending now” fall fashions presented by Bloomindale’s Aventura as well as a live and silent auction and raffle. Just some of the sensational prizes will be a $1,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree, an Eastern Caribbean Celebrity Cruise, an African Safari, Total Wine Tasting, and Luca Bella Wine Pairing, Tasting Dinner.

“The Point of Aventura is a very philanthropic, private residential community, where residents have united as a community to support this worthy cause and help fight breast cancer,” explains Michele Bonarigo, Spa Director/The Point of Aventura. “We’re encouraging neighborhood communities and businesses to lend their support by attending the November 7 Fashion for a Cause event.”
