The Women’s Fund to honor women who power our community

The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is pleased to announce Marie Claire of the Hearst Corporation and Italian designer handbag V73 as the presenting partners for the 2014 Power of the Purse Luncheon. Emmy award winning journalist and South Florida native, Jackie Nespral will be the Master of Ceremonies at this signature event scheduled for May 14 at the Hilton Miami Downtown.

The Power of the Purse Luncheon program spotlights how The Women’s Fund energizes our community to create change for thousands of women and girls throughout Miami-Dade County. “The mission of The Women’s Fund is in synergy with Marie Claire’s vision for a future where women and girls have equal access,” says Editor in Chief Anne Fulenwider. “We embrace partnerships which create real impact in diverse communities like Miami. This is only the beginning. ”

Marty Davis, Chair, Phillis Oeters, Honorary Chair and Cyndi Hibnick, Silent Auction Chair welcome luncheon guests to a red carpet entrance, an over-the-top silent auction, and a sophisticated menu. Fashion and style will be accessible at the click of a button, with the V73 handbag, generously underwritten, as the centerpiece at all the tables available for bidding.

The program will include an inspiring testimony from one of our grantee partners; a Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Hispanic media giant, Cristina Saralegui. Together we will celebrate our Honor Roll – a group of unique and exemplary women whose contributions to The Women’s Fund merit our special attention and gratitude – Thelma Gibson, Gail Mixer, and Marj Adler.
