Iconic Aventura resort Turnberry Isle Miami, in partnership with Lacoste, hosted a private tennis clinic with renowned professional tennis player Murphy Jensen on Saturday, April 4 during the 2015 Miami Open. Resort guests, including the Hon. Billy Joel and his wife Sandra, club members and select media received personalized tennis tips and pointers from Jensen during the afternoon clinic held on the property’s pristine Cañas Tennis courts. Following the clinic, Jensen and the group enjoyed a special luncheon in the private dining room of Turnberry’s newest restaurant, Corsair by Scott Conant.

“We are thrilled to partner with Lacoste to bring this exclusive opportunity to our guests and club members,” said Jon Gersonde, Managing Director of Turnberry Isle Miami. “We strive to consistently bring unique and exciting programming to our resort and look forward to building our relationship for future partnerships and events.”

Lacoste brand ambassador Murphy Jensen is a former professional tennis player who gained international attention after he and his brother Luke won the men’s doubles title at the 1993 French Open. Dr. David Muransky, Chiropractor and part of the ’69 NJCAA national championship tennis team, interviewed Jensen, and his first question was, “Is it true that you and your brother Luke taught the Bryan brothers (current #1 doubles team in the world) the true ‘art’ of the chest-bump?” Jensen laughed heartily and replied, “Yes, it is true! It started when they were juniors and Luke and I were mentoring them. We are so proud of their successes—and they now have the best chest-bumps….even better than the Jensen brothers!”

Jensen added, “We grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Michigan. The court surfaces were so bad that tennis on any other surface made us happy!”

Since retiring from the game in 2006, Jensen has remained a respected authority in the sport,
