Vi Aventura hosts National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With the help of the Aventura Police Department, Vi Aventura, a luxury care retirement community located at 19333 West Country Club Drive will serve as a drop-off site for the medications. This is a great opportunity for those who have accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.

During the four previous National Prescription Take Back Day’s, the DEA has collected more than 2 million pounds of prescription medications, which were removed from circulation. This event aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal, while educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Those wishing to participate should bring their unwanted medications to Vi at Aventura. A uniformed Aventura Police Officer will be present to accept the medications and make sure they are disposed of properly.
