Do you like to dance and enjoy the outdoors? This September, The Barnacle Historic Park will be hosting a dance party every fourth Sunday of the month until the end of December!
In case you’re wondering, these aren’t the types of dance parties you are familiar with featuring Top 40 hits or electronic dance music. These parties date back to the 1800s, complete with old folk dances, traditional circles, squares and waltzes. That’s right, the Barnacle is bringing back its Old Time Dance Series just in time for Fall.
Don’t worry if you can’t shake it like an “Old Timer,” instruction will be provided with beginners lessons at 6:30 p.m. – a half hour before the dance begins. The dance supports the Barnacle Historic Park and ensures that community events continue to be held there.
The event costs $10 per person and takes place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Barnacle is located at 3485 Main Highway in Coconut Grove. Be sure to get there early to get your tickets and practice your steps!
