Largo Bar and Grill, the first U.S. location in a chain of family-friendly, openair, waterfront restaurants, has opened at Bayside Marketplace in the heart of downtown Miami. In honor of the occasion, more than 350 of Miami’s elite came out for the grand opening celebration on Mar. 9.

Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, Miami Commissioners Marc Sarnoff and Willy Gort, as well as North Miam Beach Councilmember Barbara Kramer were in attendance for the ribbon cutting and proclamation presentation.

Guests nibbled on treats including crab cakes, coconut shrimp, ceviche and angus sliders while sipping Bacardi Mojitos. San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Willis, seen dining with a friend, was a big fan of the pork chops and coconut shrimp.

Three Miami Heat jerseys signed by Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James were raffled with proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks — a national organization that funds research, provides resources, and strives to bring South Florida’s autism community together as one unified voice.

Located directly on the water at Bayside Marketplace, Largo Bar and Grill offers a taste and feel of the Florida Keys right here in Miami. Miami’s newest premiere lifestyle restaurant includes a full service bar and covered waterfront dining with a seating capacity of 260.

The menu is an artful blend of Americana fare and fresh and sustainable seafood. Chef specialties include the Ahi Tuna Salad, Mediterranean Snapper, Pork Chops with Bourbon Glaze, Largo Angus Sliders and Fish Tacos, just to name a few.

Adding to the “fresh from the sea” atmosphere, patrons can select their very own “catch of the day” from appointed charter boats stationed dockside. For $15 per entrée, Largo will serve two side dishes and the chef will prepare the seafood dish however the patron wishes — blackened, broiled, simply grilled, etc. It gives a whole new meaning to the words “fresh seafood.”

Largo Bar and Grill is under International Restaurant Management Group’s umbrella of restaurants which operates casual, family-friendly eateries in 29 states and seven countries. Largo Bar and Grill at Bayside is the first of several locations the company plans to open at similar open-air malls throughout the country.

Largo Bar and Grill is located at 401 Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami at Bayside Marketplace (on the first floor next to The Gap). It is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday through Sunday.
