Melanie E. Damian, a business litigation attorney and senior partner with the Brickell-based law firm of Damian & Valori LLP, has received the 2018 Women Making History Award from the Florida Association for Women Lawyers Miami-Dade Chapter (MD-FAWL).
MD-FAWL hosted its annual Women Making History Cocktail Reception on Mar. 28, at The Collection in Coral Gables. Katie Phang, Esq., president of MD-FAWL, presented Damian with the 2018 Women Making History Award.
Damian was nominated and ultimately selected for this honor because of her proven leadership in supporting women’s issues, her dedication to child advocacy, education and her numerous professional accomplishments as an attorney. Damian currently is serving as chair of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar. She is a founder of the non-profit Educate Tomorrow and is the board chair of the SEED School of Miami.
