City launches Wellness Wednesdays offering free yoga, Zumba classes

Now you can shop, dine and exercise on Miracle Mile. Coral Gables has launched Wellness Wednesdays, a weekly series that will bring exciting workouts like yoga, boot camp and Zumba to local professionals and residents looking for a fitness fix close to the office and home.

Free classes take place every Wednesday after work, from 6 to 7 p.m., at The Plaza at 150 Miracle Mile — the vacant lot between BurgerFi and Barnes & Noble — courtesy of the McBride Family. Classes will take place on a weather-permitting basis.

“Wellness Wednesdays on The Plaza at 150 Miracle Mile is the perfect event and location to incentivize residents and the business community to stay in the Downtown and support their local businesses,” said Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason.

The city’s Wellness Wednesdays program will be hosted in partnership with greenmonkey, renowned yoga and health studio based in Coral Gables with additional locations throughout Florida. Greenmonkey’s skilled and upbeat instructors will teach each class, guiding participants through stress-relieving and invigorating workouts that promote healthy and active lifestyles in a fun, outdoor environment. Additionally, Gables gyms, restaurants and retailers will be a part of an on-site fitness fair offering beverages, complimentary and for sale; giveaways; promotions, and swag.
