Foram Group recently unveiled its permanent art installation in the lobby of 600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza. The 12- by 19-foot image, titled GS600, is part of the Genesis Series created by award-winning Miami artists Robin Hill and James LoParo.
“We commissioned LoParo and Hill to create a unique and stunning signature piece that embodies the four classical elements of antiquity — earth, fire, air and water in the same manner that we designed 600 Brickell and Brickell World Plaza,” said Loretta Cockrum, president and CEO of Foram Group.
GS600 is a performance art drawing project that uses photography as the medium of record. The artwork represents the coming together of humanity and the elements. The piece will anchor and showcase the 10,000-square-foot minimalist style lobby of the 40-story LEED Platinum certified tower. The Genesis Series was created along a strip of sand on Miami Beach. Photographed in low light and a long exposure, the artwork was created in real time within the camera, with minimal post-production.
“GS600 is a bold and direct comparison of the plaza’s pursuit of sustainability and global connectivity for its tenants,”Hill said .
“It provides a continuous flow and balance of energy that compliments the feng shui of the space. The prominence of the element of fire, represented by the red ribbon of light, signifies fortune and prosperity in the ancient Chinese art form, and lends itself to everyone who enters the building,” Hill added.
“The two-year long collaborative effort has produced a piece that completely captures the essence of the property. We are pleased to have found something that is distinct, but also compliments the unique space here at 600 Brickell,” said Tracy Story, Foram’s president of management and leasing.
600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza is located in the center of Miami’s downtown/ financial district.
