2017 Jaguar F-Pace

The 2017 F-Pace is unlike anything you have ever seen from Jaguar.

That’s because it not only is a new model, but it also is a new segment for Jaguar — the midsize SUV segment. F-Pace is Jaguar’s remedy to the overwhelming demand for a premium midsize SUV and it’s a great fix, at that. Jaguar fans looking for a bigger ride can rejoice with the F-Pace.

Jaguar surprised us with an all-new SUV, and while the F-Pace is incredible on paved streets, it just so happens it also is prepared for rougher roads with its standard all-wheel-drive.

You can select from two options: a 2.0-liter diesel good for 180 hp and 318 pound-feet, and a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6. The latter was available on the 35t R-Sport we test drove. Each engine is available in these variations: 340 hp or 380 hp and 332 pound-feet of torque on both.

No matter your selection, the F-Pace can tow 5,000 pounds. The F-Pace’s zero-to-60 time is 5.3 seconds. Other than the aforementioned Sport, Jaguar offers the F-Pace in base, Premium and Prestige trims with the F-Pace S topping the range. When it comes to the F-Pace’s performance, it delivers a balanced blend of performance and comfort.

Although a luxury vehicle, the F-Pace is still definitely practical. Its back row can easily fit tall passengers and the majority of seats have an abundance of leg and headroom. It’s interior styling definitely says “Jaguar” with impeccable materials and attention to detail down to its stitching. In addition to its passenger space, the F-Pace boasts a great amount of cargo space, especially with the last row flipped down.

But don’t let the F-Pace’s size and practicality fool you, this midsize crossover performs like a true Jaguar — smooth between gearshifts with a prompt response.

Comfort features offered in the 2017 F-Pace 35t R-Sport include: 380 watt Meridian Sound System, leather seating, power panoramic roof, rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, navigation system, keyless entry, 14-way heated seats and heated steering wheel.

Tech and connectivity fans will fall for the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system which allows you to access a plethora of your phone’s apps right on your car’s 10.2-inch touchscreen.

Jaguar also offers serveral options for you to customize your F-Pace. One of which, is the handy Sporting Pack, which includes a roof-mounted Cycle Carrier and an ultra-cool Activity Key. The Activity Key is especially nifty — it’s a simple, waterproof bracelet that fits securely like a watch band and allows you to take your key anywhere without having to fear losing it.

For 2017 Jaguar enters the midsize crossover segment with its all-new F-Pace. A welcomed edition to the Jaguar family, the F-Pace brings classic Jaguar styling and performance together, along with practicality to yield one heck of a competitor amongst luxury crossovers.

The 2017 F-Pace comes in five trims with several add-on packages, allowing you to find the best combination that suits your needs.

Compared to its luxury crossover counterparts, the F-Pace also comes with a surprisingly decent base price starting at about $41,000.

The MSRP for the 2017 F-Pace 35t R-Sport we test drove is $55,300.
