KIWANIS CLUB OF LITTLE HAVANA MAKES DREAMS COME TRUE FOR 17 SOUTH FLORIDA STUDENTS

Kiwanis - Scholarship Group

On July 1, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana continued their 17-year tradition of awarding hard-working South Florida youth with scholarships to attend any public university in the state of Florida. Scholarship recipients and their families were on hand as Kiwanis Club of Little Havana President Tony Lorenzo and Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation Chairman Henry Jimenez congratulated the students on their accomplishments and commitment to furthering their education.

“With 58 students currently enrolled in our scholarship program, we proudly continue to support the future of our community and build on the more than $1.5 million invested in helping hard working high school graduates achieve their goals of attaining a college degree,” said Jimenez.  “It’s thanks to the support of our corporate and community partners and members that we are able to continue providing these valuable programs that help form our future leaders.”

The Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation Scholarship Program is sponsored by AT&T, Coca-Cola, BMW and Do Unto Others Trust.

Applications for the 2016 scholarship awards will be open from April 1 – April 30, 2016. To learn more about the Kiwanis of Little Havana Foundation Scholarship Program, please visit www.kiwanislittlehavanafoundation.org/scholarship.html or call (305) 644-8888.
