Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) showcased its award-winning recipe for success during the recent Simply Italian: Great Wines Americas Tour 2014, coordinated by International Event and Exhibition Management (IEEM).

Organizers also presented a donation to Dr. José A. Vicente, Wolfson Campus president, which will be offered as scholarships for MCI students, who played a key role providing support and logistics for the annual wine tour.

Recognized for its cultural significance, the annual trade tasting in South Florida brought together influential local and international wine industry leaders. MCI was the site of four Simply Italian guided tasting seminars presented by distinguished experts in their respective fields.

IEEM works with Italian wine makers and distributors around the country to educate both professionals and wine connoisseurs about Italian wine through displays and tastings. This is the second consecutive year the group has partnered with MDC’s Miami Culinary Institute to host these educational seminars and tastings.

The Simply Italian Miami festivities concluded with a VIP cocktail reception at the MCI’s showcase restaurant, Tuyo.
