The Miami Dade College community celebrated its new official college flag during flag-raising ceremonies on Sept. 4 at which time all campuses simultaneously raised the new flag.

The main event at the Wolfson Campus, which was led by Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, MDC president, was streamed live so that the other campuses could raise their flags at precisely the same moment.

The new flag has eight stripes representing the college’s eight campuses and its logo in the center. The timing was especially right given the recent enrollment of the college’s 2 millionth student.

“We have one college, one mission, one vision and now one flag,” Dr. Padrón said. “I can’t think of a more cohesive organization than MDC.”
