New concept and design replaces longstanding Segafredo Brickell

Well-established venue Segafredo Brickell unveiled a new concept called “Barsecco” during December.

After 10 years, venue owners decided to cut out the coffee shop component and focus more on refining its strongest aspects, the restaurant and lounge. On Dec. 18, Segafredo Brickell officially evolved into Barsecco, where new menus, cocktails, music and completely revived look were introduced following major renovations.

The new space comes from the minds of Ghosthouse Creative, which has designed popular venues such as Kiki’s on the River, Bodega, Mansion and Living Room in Washington, DC.

Inside, a towering indoor tree and natural woods offset classic chandeliers, while plush seating and low lighting lend a seductive edge to an otherwise cozy dining room. Outdoors, eclectic seating, draping vines, and reclaimed barn wood along a breezy canopied terrace welcome guests to mingle, dine and relax.

Design standouts include a sprawling politically charged mural painted by local artist Juan Rozas, fireplace, deejay booth, live wall, and three indoor and outdoor bars.

Deviled Eggs (Black Truffle Shavings, Chives, Pimiento Puree), Cauliflower (Pine Nuts, Baby Arugula, Lemon, Olive Oil) and Cuban Bao (Confit Pork Should, Ham, Swiss, Pickles and Carnitas Tacos (Confit Pork Shoulder, Chicharon, White Onion, Cilantro), Maine Lobster Claw, Shaved Celery, Red Onion, Fennel and Basil Aioli) and Grilled Watermelon and Black Tiger Shrimp Salad (Pan Seared Black Tiger shrimp, Grilled Summer Watermelon, Baby Arugula, Romaine, English Cucumber fresh Mint, Feta Cheese, White Balsamic Vinaigrette).

Small plates range from $11 to $19, while mains such as Linguini Frutti Di Mare (P.E.I Mussels, Littleneck Clams, Black Tiger Shrimp, Calamari, Cherry Tomato), Garbanzo Bean Shitake Mushroom Cakes (Pan-seared Garbanzo Bean Cakes, Greek Yogurt-Tahini Puree, Caramelized Carrots are avaiulble.

Opening daily for happy hour through late night, the restaurant and lounge will be serving creative cocktails highlighting fresh ingredients and a Prosecco-centric signature cocktail section, alongside an international selection of spirits, wines, beers, and champagnes.

A warm, social dining experience will be encouraged with shared-plates drawn from diverse cultures with local twists. Start with Mustard Aioli) for the table, followed by Lobster Roll (Spicy Pickled Red Cabbage) and New York Strip Steak (Roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled asparagus, red wine demi-glace) are from $20 to $32.

In the later hours, programming will infuse energy to ensure the mood is right for a convivial feel fueled by cocktails, live deejay and late-night bites.

Barsecco is located at 1421 S. Miami Ave. in the heart of Brickell and will be open for weekend brunch, happy hour and dinner. Hours of Operation are 4 p.m.-3 a.m., Monday-Sunday. For more information phone 305-577-9809 or send email to marketing@verestaurants.com.
