The Rotary Club of Miami is busy planning its 100th anniversary of serving the Greater Miami community.

“A Century of Service,” a gala anniversary event, will take place on Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017. The club’s founding president in 1917 was Dr. James Jackson, of Jackson Memorial Hospital fame, and he was followed by a long list of Miami’s civic pioneers and business leaders.

The Rotary Club of Miami helped establish many South Florida institutions now household names, including Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, South Florida Council of the Boys Scouts of America, YMCA of Greater Miami, Boystown of Florida, University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the Bone and Tissue Bank.
