For the past several decades, the primary method for the quick reduction of fat cells has been liposuction.
Among the downsides to this invasive procedure have been issues surrounding the potential for burns under the skin and an effect known as “waffling” where, depending on the practitioner, the canulae’s movement in and out of the area being treated melts away the fat cells in a fan or waffle pattern due to ineffective treatment. The liposuction procedure is typically very painful post-operatively as well.
