Youth Fair & Expo announces 2016 dates at Tamiami Park

The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair and Exposition has announced its operating schedule for its 65th anniversary in 2016.

The Youth Fair & Exposition will take place at Tamiami Park, SW 107th Avenue and Coral Way, its home since 1972, from Mar. 17 through Apr. 10, 2016, except on Mar. 28 and 29 and Apr. 4 and 5.

The 2016 Youth Fair will provide many new surprises as well as amusement rides, one-of-a kind delicious food, live outdoor entertainment, concerts and agricultural and academic exhibits to guests for 21 days in 2016.

The 64th annual Youth Fair saw more than 650,000 guests and featured many exciting events, including a series of first annual fundraisers hosted by concessionaires featuring a Golf Classic and Lobster Fest benefiting the Youth Fair’s Scholarship Fund and Miami-Dade County students, the first annual Foodie Awards, a canned food drive to benefit Miami Rescue Mission that reached more than 10,000 cans and a proclamation by Miami-Dade County proclaiming Mar. 12 as Miami- Dade Youth Fair and Exposition Day in Miami-Dade County.

The Youth Fair also hosted various celebrities and their families as well as international guests, who all came to enjoy all that the Youth Fair had to offer in 2015.

“The entire Youth Fair team is absolutely thrilled with our 2015 successes and sincerely thank everyone for making this year’s event our largest in 10 years,” said Bob Hohenstein, fair president and CEO. “The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair is the largest fair in the state of Florida, the 30th largest fair in North America and, indeed, is larger than 36 of the United States’ state fairs. We could not achieve what we are able to without the wonderful support of the people of Miami-Dade County.”
