Youth Fair’s 2016 Scholarship Program taking applications

The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition has announced the application process has begun for its annual Scholarship Program open to high school seniors.

The organization increased to 129 the number of $1,000 college scholarships it will give out in 2016. The awards will be distributed at a dinner and ceremony on Apr. 21. High school seniors attending all Miami-Dade County public and private schools, including home school and charter school students, are eligible to apply.

“Two of the key components of our organization’s mission are to support education and showcase youth achievement,” said Robert Hohenstein, president and CEO. “We are seeing so many talented, intelligent and deserving high school seniors who need that extra assistance to help pay for their college education, especially at a time when it’s tough to keep up with tuition prices.”

High school seniors can download the application from the Youth Fair website at www.thefair.me/thefair/exhibitsprograms.php.

The application must be turned in to the school College Assistance Program advisor or comparable person before the end of February.
