Naples’ LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort introduces an eco-friendly getaway

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort is located on the idyllic Naples beachfront.

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort— a Noble House Resort located on the idyllic Naples beachfront — has introduced a Sea Turtle Suite package to celebrate the beginning of the 2016 nesting season for loggerhead sea turtles on the beaches of Southwest Florida. The package will be available for guests to book now for the spring-to-fall nesting months of May through October.

“During the warmer months, loggerhead sea turtles return to the sandy beaches of Naples to lay their nests, which contain an average of 100 ping pong ball-sized eggs,” explained Marco Perry, LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort’s managing director.

“Since the beaches in Southwest Florida are crucial nesting areas for this endangered species, LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort invites guests to join in the special cause and support the measures we’re taking to help save one of Florida’s most beloved reptiles from extinction.”

The two-night Sea Turtle Suite package features luxurious accommodations, dining at the resort’s Baleen restaurant, the opportunity to adopt a sea turtle, as well as a visit to the Conservancy Nature Center.

LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort also will help guests track sea turtle activity on property with alerts about sightings, as well as donate a portion of every Sea Turtle Suite package booked to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.

To begin the enchanting two-night experience, LaPlaya greets travelers upon check-in with a Sea Turtle Suite welcome kit, complete with a beach bag and large stuffed sea turtle toy. After a day of relaxing on the resort’s white sandy beach, a “chef-tested, sea turtle-approved” menu awaits at the resort’s signature beachfront restaurant, Baleen.

Guests will find themselves connecting with the local environment through participation in the Sea Turtle Adoption Program, including a personalized adoption certificate that recognizes those who help support the ongoing care and treatment of sick and injured sea turtles.

Throughout their stay, guests will receive “turtle tweets,” alerting them about on-property sea turtle sightings and upcoming releases.

Additionally, with LaPlaya’s Sea Turtle Suite, guests can visit the Conservancy of Southwest Florida and experience the natural treasures in the region. From touching dozens of creatures in the Touch Tank and viewing a loggerhead sea turtle as it swims freely in a 5,000-gallon reef tank, to participating in a guided trail walk and visiting more than a hundred exhibits, guests will learn about the importance of the center’s resources and understand the role the Conservancy of Southwest Florida plays in protecting the region.

To top off the philanthropic vacation, LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Sea Turtle Suite offer to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, with a mission to protect the region’s unique natural environment and quality of life.

The Sea Turtle Suite package is available starting at $2,400 (plus taxes) and reservations can be made by visiting or by calling 239-597-3123.

Nestled on the picturesque beachfront in Naples overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort is the ultimate vacation destination for locals and travelers alike. The resort boasts 189 guest rooms and eight suites; a 4,500-square-foot SpaTerre with salon and spa services; a state-of-the-art fitness center with rotating classes; beach butler service; private poolside cabanas with cold towel and sorbet service; Baleen Restaurant and Tiki Bar; sophisticated meeting and event spaces, and much more.
