Seven Coral Gables IAFF Local 1210 members participated in the second annual New York City Firefighter Stair Climb on Mar. 13.

The seven were part of 343 firefighters in full firefighting gear who ascended the 72 floors of 4 World Trade Center. While each climber climbed in honor of one of the 343 FDNY firefighters killed on Sept. 11, 2001, the climb also memorialized fallen first responders and military personnel worldwide.

The New York City Firefighter Stair Climb is foremost a memorial climb, however each year organizers designate a beneficiary and mount a fundraising campaign for that organization. This year proceeds from the climb will benefit Team Red, White & Blue – New York City Chapter. Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
