The second annual Burgerliscious festival took place on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Fred B. Hartnett Ponce Circle Park as more than 1,200 burger lovers descended on the City Beautiful to savor the flavors of 25 local restaurants competing for the Best in Bun Award.
Bonafide burger aficionados sunk their teeth into gourmet burgers made by Coral Gables’ premier restaurants. The festival also began Miami Live Music Month (www.livemiamimusic.com), a premier program of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau with entertainment presented by DJ Mayner and the ’80s stylings of Mad World Orchestra.
Taking things to the next level, Burgerliscious continued the tradition by honoring two restaurants in the categories of “People’s Choice” and “Best in Bun” for bragging rights. Those two belong to The Dome Restaurant & Bar as the “People’s Choice” award and Shula’s 347 Grill as the “Best in Bun” for the night.
“The Dome Restaurant wants to thank everyone who voted for us,” said owner and winner of the People’s Choice award, Rachel Dominguez.“Burgerliscious is an incredible event that is getting better every year. They truly bring together the best burgers in town along with a great energy from the community. Amazing friends, food, and drinks… It does not get any better than that!”
The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Samuel Adams, Jack Daniels, South Motors BMW, City of Coral Gables and Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau partnered to present this appetizing event to the public. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to create a special fund at the Coral Gables Community Foundation that will help support locally owned small businesses.
