Florida Gov. Rick Scott recently announced the reappointment of Adrian Alfonso, CPA, as board chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe. The term began on June 7 and ends Apr. 30, 2021.

The Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe provides early care and education to more than 50,000 children and their families in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. The non-profit aims to “increase all children’s chances of achieving future educational success and becoming productive members of society” with school readiness, voluntary pre-kindergarten and after-school programs.

“I’m honored to serve as board chair of the Early Learning Coalition for another term,” Alfonso said. “The coalition gives children a chance to learn and succeed, and I’m glad to be a part of that mission.”

Alfonso is a tax director at Kaufman Rossin, one of the top 100 CPA and advisory firms in the U.S. He manages engagements for individual, corporate, estate and trust tax returns, as well as financial statements and compilations.

He represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Florida Department of Revenue and other state agencies, and performs tax research and planning for clients on federal and state issues. In addition, he supervises accounting personnel on tax and financial engagements, and offers tax consulting and advisory services.

Alfonso was first appointed as board chair of the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe in 2013. He also is a member of the Christopher Columbus High School Advisory Board, serving on the executive and finance committee.
