Golf enthusiasts of all skill levels turned out once again for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s 51st annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles “Bebe” Rebozo on Monday, Mar. 19, at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables.

The sold-out event benefitted the clubs’ youth development programs that foster skills in computer literacy, education, cultural arts, homework, educational assistance, and social life competencies, as well as sports and recreation.

The daylong tournament began with a putting contest at 11 a.m. followed immediately by a shotgun start. Stretch Zone was available to assist players warm up. All golfers received a commemorative golf shirt, umbrella, goodie bag and golf balls. Lunch was provided by McDonalds and on-site wings and snacks by Hooters.

Immediately following the tournament, the day concluded with an awards banquet and ceremony at 5:30 p.m., which featured a buffet-style dinner, cocktails, raffle and prizes.

“It’s an immense honor to be hosting the 51st annual Golf Classic in memory of Bebe Rebozo,” said Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. “The support we are shown for this event is truly humbling and we sold out again. It’s a great day for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade and the youth development programs we can continue to offer.”
