The Chopin for All free concert series will open its 2017-18 season by presenting Polish pianist Elzbieta Bilicka, a laureate of the 2016 International Paderewski Competition, on Sunday, Nov. 5, 3 p.m., at Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Dr. in Coral Gables
Bilicka performs a program featuring the music of Schubert, Szymanowski, Paderewski and, of course, Chopin.

Admission is free and no tickets are required

Bilicka began formal piano studies at age 6, first with Lucyna Jackowska-Brzoska, and later at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz with Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron, Agata Nowakowska-Gumiela and Alberto Nosè.

She has participated in a number of master classes with renowned musicians such as Arie Vardi, Matti Raekalio, Andrzej Jasinski, Mikhail Voskresensky, Dina Yoffe, Bernd Goetzke and Dmitri Alexeev.

Bilicka has won many awards and distinctions in several national and international competitions. She is a laureate of the 2016 International Paderewski Competition in Poland where she also won the best Mozart and Paderewski prizes. That same year, she was a prize winner of the Polish National Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

Since 2016, she has been a student of the Haute École de Musique de Genéve where she studies piano with Nelson Goerner.
