The City Beautiful was rocking to a Latin beat the weekend of Mar. 7-8 as the annual Carnaval On The Mile brought thousands of people to Miracle Mile in Coral Gables for music, food, art, shopping and fun.

People of all ages were walking the length of the Mile and often dancing in the street as the music of area bands rang out from three separate stages located at the ends and center of the festival area. A part of Carnaval Miami, the event was hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, which raises funds to sponsor educational, recreational, athletic and scholarship programs in South Florida.

In addition to the constant live music, there were dozens of food vendors, artists and craftspeople and a wide range of sponsoring businesses that provided plenty of things of interest during the two day event.

Despite overcast skies and occasional rain, the weather did not dampen the spirits of the festival attendees, which ranged from toddlers in strollers to senior citizens and all ages in between. The event will likely return next year.
