Some 50 members and guests gathered on Nov. 2 to enjoy French fare and wine and to celebrate end-of-year activities along with Marie Antoinette’s 261st birthday. Special guest speaker, art historian, and lecturer Juan P. Lluria shared his knowledge and enthusiasm on Marie Antoinette and the fine and decorative arts of 18th Century France.

Lluria is president of Lluria Fine Arts Services LLC and certified on the highest levels as an appraiser of general fine residential contents with the prestigious American Association of Appraisers in New York.

Entertainment director Pamela Parker and The Palace Coral Gables, a senior living community, hosted the event.

Virginia Jaspar and Chocolate Fashion — artisanal bakery and gourmet food company started in the heart of Coral Gables —donated the customized cake in honor of Marie Antoinette’s “bon anniversaire.”
