Coral Gables Hospital employees recently showed appreciation for the medical staff’s hard work and dedication to their patients during the hospital’s annual Doctor’s Day celebration.
During the festivities, Dr. Jose Landa, pulmonologist, was presented with the Physician of the Quarter award. Landa received the majority of the votes cast by his colleagues and hospital staff.
“We are all proud of Dr. Landa and his accomplishments,” said Jeffrey Welch, CEO of Coral Gables Hospital. “His dedication to putting the interest and comfort of his patients first and foremost has been recognized by his peers and for that I congratulate him.”
Dr. Landa has been a practicing pulmonologist at Coral Gables Hospital for more than 30 years and is board certified in internal medicine along with pulmonology. He went to medical school at the University of Madrid in Spain and completed his residency as well as an internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center. One of Dr. Landa’s special areas of interest is in bloodless/transfusionfree medicine.
