Shake your shamrock this St. Patrick’s Day at JohnMartin’s Irish Pub & Restaurant’s 28th annual Celtic celebration on Saturday, Mar. 17, when the iconic Coral Gables pub will be hosting a variety of Irish-themed activities for everyone to enjoy starting at noon and continuing until 2 a.m.
The official start will be marked with Irish dancers, a fiddler and a rainbow ribbon-cutting by public officials declaring the official St. Patrick’s Day. Guests will enjoy a host of activities after the kickoff including fun for the family, live music by Paddy Kelleghan at noon, and music provided by JohnMartin’s deejay at 5 p.m.
JohnMartin’s makes sure that St. Patrick’s Day isn’t exclusively for adults either. Kids can get in the on action this year with unicorn pony rides, face painting and balloon animals from noon until 3 p.m.
The local pub will feature delicious Irish beverages alongside its authentic Irish fare. The special St. Patrick’s Day menu will include bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips and corned beef sandwiches.
“Guests will feel like they’re celebrating on the Emerald Isle at JohnMartin’s,” said Martin Lynch, co-owner of JohnMartin’s. “This annual tradition is our favorite part of the year and we are happy to host a day when everyone is a little bit Irish.”
JohnMartin’s has been continually recognized for its cuisine by publications that voted the restaurant “Best Pub Food” for several years. The restaurant features karaoke on Friday nights at 10 p.m., live entertainment every Saturday night. They feature Trivia Night, Thursdays from 8 to 10 p.m., and Open Mic Night on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. JohnMartin’s is located at 253 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.
