The Junior Orange Bowl celebrated the regal tradition of crowning its Royal Court on Sunday, Sept. 25, at the Rebeca Sosa Theater in Miami Springs.

Queen Gwendolyn Odin, along with Princess Celine Alvarez, Princess Bianca Delgado, and Little Sister Jasmine Willis will reign over all Junior Orange Bowl events during the 2016-17 festival season.

The Junior Orange Bowl Royal Court encourages and empowers the young ladies who participate to become future leaders and role models in the community. The Royal Court will serve as volunteers and goodwill ambassadors at all of the 2016-17 Junior Orange Bowl Festival events.

The Queen, Princesses, and Little Sister also will ride on the Royal Court Float during the organization’s marquee event, the 68th Junior Orange Bowl Holiday on the Mile Parade down Miracle Mile in downtown Coral Gables on Nov. 27. The Royal Court application now is open and available year-round at <www.jrorangebowl.org/royal-court>.

The Junior Orange Bowl is best known for hosting more than 7,500 youth participants in 15 athletic, academic, and cultural events throughout the year.

Some Junior Orange Bowl highlights for the 2016 season are the addition of the Robotics Tournament, which will take place on Nov. 5 at Miami Springs Recreation Center and the Third Annual Gala, which will be on Saturday, Mar. 18, 2017 at the new EAST Miami.
