An eight-foot piñata will add to the festivities.

Get your sombreros, mustaches and ponchos ready to celebrate the 155 anniversary of the “Battle of Puebla” — the legendary Mexican victory over the French army — at the largest Cinco de Mayo block party in Florida.

The big fiesta, which will take place at Mary Brickell Village and S. Miami Avenue (900 S. Miami Ave.) on Friday, May 5, will start at 5 p.m. and continue to 1 a.m.

More than 8,000 are expected be partying at two stages with multiple deejays and several cocktail stations. Tequila shots, premium margaritas, and Mexican beer will make up the ultimate Cinco de Mayo celebration.

And, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without the iconic drop of Paco, the eight-foot piñata, at 9 p.m.

“Every year our parties get bigger and better and Cinco de Mayo is no different,” said Javi Zayas, president of SWARM. “This event will be festive and fun and something you will not want to miss.”

Tickets are just $10 when pre-purchased online at www.CincoDeMayoBrickell.com or $20 at the door. A variety of $5 drink specials will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m. For those who take their partying seriously, the Fiesta Party Pack is available for only $13 and includes one admission ticket ($10 value), a 22-ounce souvenir cup ($7 value) and assorted party favors (mustaches, glasses, etc.).

Since 2002, the SWARM management team has been involved in each and every aspect of building and executing annual events and festivals, including Grovetoberfest, Basel House, Coconut Grove Seafood Festival, and Wynwood Life, among many others.
