Library seeking young artists

The Miami-Dade Public Library is seeking budding young artists, 6-12, to participate in its annual “Make-a-Bookmark” contest.

Children are encouraged to submit a drawing depicting the theme: Why I Love My Library? The contest runs until Nov. 16.

Contest entry must be original work and will be judged on creativity and neatness. One finalist will be chosen from each branch, and the grand prizewinner will be selected from among these finalists.

The winning design will be used on the library’s official bookmark for 2014, and the winner also will receive a large basket of art supplies and a certificate of recognition from the Miami Dolphins.

Entry forms are available at all branches and online at <www.mdpls.org>. Final date for submission is Saturday, Nov. 16.

The Bookmark Contest is made possible with the support of the Miami Dolphins Foundation and the Friends of the Miami- Dade Public Library.
