Menorah lighting ceremony, Dec. 13

Everyone is invited to the City of Coral Gables Festival of Lights Hanukkah Celebration scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at Fred B. Hartnett Ponce Circle Park, 2800 Ponce de Leon Blvd.

Spencer Aronfeld of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers will serve as emcee while the free public event will offer live entertainment, giant slide and rock climbing wall as well as crafts for kids, complimentary food and drinks.

The event will feature special singing sensation Yisroel Amar with a Hanukkah performance. Yisroel was the winner of the 2011 “Jewish Star” competition in the junior category.

The highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the candles on a 15-foot Menorah that will illuminate Ponce Circle Park during the holiday season. Rabbi Avrohom Stolik of Chabad Coral Gables will officiate the ceremony, and Gables Mayor Jim Cason and other dignitaries will give remarks.
