Miami Dade College (MDC) will honor a new group of accomplished alumni across various industries — such as education, non-profit, medicine, psychology and public safety — during its 2017 Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, Apr. 18, 6 p.m., at the Hilton Miami Downtown, 1601 Biscayne Blvd.

The honorees are among the nation’s premier impresarios, public servants, artists, and community leaders. Hall of Fame inductees are recognized for their career accomplishments and positive impact on the community and the college.

This year’s inductees will join the ranks of actor Andy Garcia, music industry mogul Emilio Estefan, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz, former Dolphins receiver Nat Moore, eMERGE AMERICAS founder and entrepreneur Manny Medina, U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and former Major League Baseball catcher Mike Piazza.

The MDC Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony, now in its 15th year, is the largest Miami Dade College Foundation fundraiser of the year that provides student scholarships for the next generation of Miami’s leaders.
