Mount Sinai Medical Center welcomes Dr. Carlos Zamora as its newest cardiologist. Dr. Zamora, an associate professor with the Columbia University Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, will be seeing patients at Mount Sinai Coral Gables Primary and Specialty Care, located at 836 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, and Mount Sinai Aventura’s multi-specialty office, located at 2845 Aventura Boulevard.
Board certified in internal medicine and specializing in echocardiography and cardiac computed tomography, Dr. Zamora’s clinical focus is on the prevention of cardiac disease, as well as the evaluation and treatment of coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, hypertension and dyslipidemias. He is proficient in the interpretation of echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, vascular ultrasound and cardiac computed tomography angiographies.
Dr. Zamora completed both his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at Mount Sinai. He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He was also named chief fellow of Mount Sinai’s cardiology fellowship program for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Miami is home to one of the largest Brazilian communities in the United States; and, Dr. Zamora is one of a select few cardiologists in Miami-Dade County who is fluent in Portuguese. He is also fluent in English and Spanish.
